I love making brisket for the family. Not only is it delicious and hearty, but the leftovers are perfect in my husbands lunch box the next day. Here's a few tips for picking out a good piece of meat. The fattier the cut of meat, the juicier this will be. Make sure to choose an inexpensive cut of meat. I usually look for second cut. For brisket, do NOT chose a first cut or top of the rib as they are took lean. INGREDIENTS 8 minced cloves of garlic 2 medium onions chopped. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 1 bunch of celery, peeled and sliced 1 large can tomatoes – diced, or crushed 1/2 cup Truvia Brown Sugar sweetener 1/4 apple cider vinegar Salt and pepper INSTRUCTIONS Pour all ingredients into your slow cooker and stir. Add meat and then pour water in until the meat is almost covered. Put a few pats of butter on top (optional). Turn slow cooker on low and slow heat. We're going to cook this baby all day about 6 -8 hours. Get this started before leaving work and it will be ready by dinner time. It's likely to fall apart but you can slice the meat and it is perfect. MACROS per 4oz
