This little project is so fun for creative little ones who have a love for decorating. With a little help and some simple supplies... You can put together the sweetest little travel homes for play. My friend Laura Bray is sharing with us today how she and her daughter enjoy making these. Get your tins here and get ready for fun. 💕 Whenever we go out to dinner, my daughter brings her "restaurant purse". It contains loads of things to keep her busy while she waits for her food to arrive or for Mom & Dad to finish eating their food. We have crayons and tic-tac-toe games and little journals in it. Lately, she's been a bit bored by the selection of the items in the purse and I knew I had to come up with something new. As I was digging through my own purse, I came upon an empty Altoid mint tin. After looking it over, I decided it would make a perfect bed for one my daughter's little toy pets. Basic Supplies Altoid Tins Fabric Scraps Scrapbook Paper Glue Scissors Odd and End Finds Construction Paper Ribbon I covered the tin with scrapbook paper and ribbon and inside I tucked a scrap of batting, covered with a scrap fabric for the mattress. More fabric scraps made a tiny blanket and pillow.
But I couldn't stop there! I got another tin (I really like mints!) and made a little kitchen. The sink, stove and fridge are small boxes with the appliances sketched onto them. The table is the top of soda bottle. If you are planning to make one (or three-they're addictive) be sure to include your child. Ask them to find small items around the house that can be tables, chairs, pillow. I know my daughter spent hours sifting through items to turn into accessories for her dollhouse. These little dollhouses fit in any purse and are sure to keep your child busy. Take it to a restaurant or even on vacation with you this summer.
