Bear Hollow Zoo is a unique experience in Athens, Georgia. They are home to a variety of wildlife animals that are non-releasable. Non-Releasable means they have encountered life challenges that they could not overcome and have been placed at Bear Hollow Zoo to live out their lives. They may either be residents due to physical or behavioral challenges and they serve as ambassadors for their species to the curious public. The public that visit have the opportunity to observe these animals as they are there to educator visitors about wildlife. Best of all it's FREE to visit. Join us on a picture walk...We began our adventure practicing map skills. The beauty of getting to homeschool the kids, is we get to experience life and develop real life skills on our terms. The little ones found the coordinating letters and numbers and found were they intersect on the map to reveal the place we were looking to visit. That is the end of our picture walk of Bear Hollow Zoo! There are a few animals we didn't get to see, like the deer. However, the kids enjoyed watching the otters, snakes, alligators, bears, and many more wildlife they otherwise might not get to see. Extension Activities We FoundThere are several bear activities found in our Letter B Study found here.... There are several activities on this link for studying Habitats and Homes....
