In the last few weeks I have spent several hours washing my families dirty laundry at the laundromat. Each time I need a load cleaned and dried I have to deposit quarters into the machine. With each quarter I get closer to the promise that I’ll end up with a load of clean clothes. I have been think a lot about these deposits and the promise that when I leave I’ll have baskets of clean clothes and my family will have what they need for the week. I have been thinking also about the promises God made to Abraham. The covenants that were made between Abraham and God the Father gave transferrrd to Isaac and then to Jacob and as believers of Jesus Christ we are also captured into that covenant as sons and daughters of Abraham. Remember the song “Father Abraham, had many sons. Many sons had Father Abraham. I am one of them, and so are you. So let’s just praise the Lord!” When we take our praises and thanksgiving to the Lord, we are making deposits into our blessings. He promised blessings to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob and as sons and daughters we too can receive those blessings as well. Make your deposits if praises and thanksgiving to our Lord Father and the floodgates of blessings will flow into your lives. The same goes for our marriage, not only will our Father God send His blessings in their fullness, but when we make deposits into our marriage we are investing into our marriage future. Our marriage deposits are not so different from those we send to Heaven. Deposit: We can praise our spouse. Deposit: We can thank our spouse. Deposit: We can speak kind words to our spouse. Depost: We can speak kind words about our spouse. Depost: We can offer acts of kindness to our spouse. Deposit: We can give a loving touch to our spouse. Deposit: (You fill in this blank) _______________. Making these small deposits often and on a regular basis will also open up the floodgates of blessings within your marriage. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” -James 1:17 In my book, Fresh Start, you can learn more about how to experience the fullness of God’s promises in your marriage and how to become a wife of prayer, influence, and strength.
