Forward as an adverb, onward so as to make progress; toward a successful conclusion.
Forward as a verb, help to advance something; promote.
Forward seems to be the best word to describe this last week.
The kids were excited to come home from church Sunday and see their Cooper, Papaw, and Daddy had made more progress. It was hot and hard work laying out the foundation and squaring up the house.
The littles were ready to get started building immediately.
The babies and I went to do laundry Tuesday and came back to find Uncle Bruce and Papaw Swanson digging and moving dirt and rock for the foundation. This is such tiring work. The machines are hot and they constantly jostle. I’m so very thankful we have these two guys in our life. Our boys get to see the example they set and it had been nice spending a little time with them in between working. So much progress was made with these two working together.
I am so thankful for the weather cooling off. It’s been so nice in the shade for the kids to play. Gunner has a hard time some days finding his place. He wants to be so big and it’s a challenge trying to keep up with the big kids. It does my momma heart good to see him play in peace. I love finding him like this.
Jake and Evan are finding a few ways to help. I think they will find they are more capable than they even know. There’s a learning curve for sure, even just unloading block needed Papaw’s help but they were proud to help.
Sleeping Beauty won’t know what to do when she has her own room again with her own bed. She ask to sleep on the pullout couch but usually ends up in my bed. I do think this girl can sleep anywhere though.
Friday we had a big day. I had a board meeting and they deserved some cupcakes. I took them to my favorite baker in Dalton, Ga. Tiffany did not disappoint. It’s such a fun little bakery she had opened.
Friday night we had friends visit for a night of camping. The next day was pretty eventful. It was nice seeing friends after having been away for over a month now.
This picture above popped up in my memories from a year ago. Our adoption was about to be finalized and we were getting excited about what was coming so one evening we drove down to check our progress.
So we move forward into Week 6.
